There are over seventy freely designed icons with personally chosen motifs by over seventy icon makers.
These include renowned artists, but also other interested parties and some employees of the Serviceplan Group.

Father Timofey and his wife Natasha built what he called the East-West Peace Church from World War II rubble on the site of today's Olympic Park. It was an unauthorised construction, mind you.
‘Father Timofey must stay,’ said the citizens of Munich, and so he did. He eventually died at the age of 110, and his life's work was burned to ashes about two years ago. Father Timofey's church was covered with images of saints and crucifixes, the kind you find at flea markets and souvenir shops.
He was Russian, but his church was not Orthodox. Anyone who was of good faith was welcome. Father Timofej's artistic idea was to give icon makers the freedom to choose whether they wanted to use Christian motifs at all or rather to make things, beings or thoughts the object of their worship and design.

Opening: Tuesday, 27 January, 5:30 p.m.
Friedenstraße 24 in Munich's Werksviertel district near Ostbahnhof station.
